OPENING PRAYER

Meet me, O Christ, in this stillness of morning.*

REFRAIN

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever — do not abandon the works of your hands. Psalm 138:8 NIV

THE WORD OF GOD/A READING

All Things Bright and Beautiful by Cecil F. Alexander

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flow’r that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

REFRAIN

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever — do not abandon the works of your hands. Psalm 138:8 NIV

PRAYER

Lord, help me see every creature and every being through your eyes today. May I approach my day with curiosity and wonder, just like a child. May I let go of my own agenda and be open to all that you have put in front of me today. Give me the gift of presence to myself, to you, and to all people and things I encounter today. – Rachel

CONCLUSION

The Concluding Prayer of the Church: BCP

Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought me in safety to the beginning of this day: Preserve me with your mighty power, that I may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all I do, direct me to the fulfilling of your purposes; through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
