OPENING PRAYER
I was glad when they said unto me, “We will go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1
THE REFRAIN
1 Samuel 1:27, 28 ESV
For this child I prayed; and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives he is lent to the Lord.
WORD OF GOD/A READING
Psalm 1 ESV
Blessed is the [wo]man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but [her] delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
[S]he is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that [s]he does, [s]he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
THE REFRAIN
1 Samuel 1:27, 28 ESV
For this child I prayed; and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives he is lent to the Lord.
PRAYERS
God, I so easily forget that you are my protector and I try to protect myself. Rid me of this habit. May I lean into you when I need help. May I trust you and remember that you want good things for me and my family. – Rachel
